This past weekend I was able to help celebrate the life of my friend Leslie in Cancun, Mexico. Simply put, life was lived and melanin was popping! We booked through Expedia three weeks before our trip! We decided on the amount we did not mind spending for flight and lodging, and booked through Expedia’s travel packages. I must say the trip exceeded my expectations of what I assumed Cancun would be like and Mexico has captured my little travel heart! Continue reading “Cuties Coasting in Cancun”
Sunday Fun|Day was a success! Today some awesome ladies, and myself, met up at SoBe Restaurant and Lounge in Lanham, Maryland to discuss a few things for our newly established book club! It was exciting to hang out with this spectacular group of women before we fully dive into our books and this whole book club idea!
Happy New Year Everyone!
2017 came and went just like that! I made it through my first holiday season spending both, Christmas and New Years, away from my family. Initially I figured, uhhh this sucks…then after a ten minute dramatic moment I got over it!
I was not able to go to Dallas for the holidays due to my interesting work schedule, and my slight inability to deal with crowded airports, packed car lots, and the other headaches of holiday travel. Sometimes as a traveler you’re just not up to the draining part of traveling. Especially when you will only have two full days with family before having to endure the airport headache life again. It hurts you more than help if you’re a sensitive person like me. I like to think I saved myself from a weird emotional toll and a lot of money. Continue reading “Home for the Holidays”
Hey guys its been a minute, or two, well more like a year… but it’s a return 🙂 ! Since my last blog I’ve completed a masters degree from Howard University School of Social Work (HU). I lost my first love and best friend, my father. I finally entered the big girl world of working in the social services field. I have basically had to begin … Continue reading Oh hey there…
Dear Ladies of Earth,Master Yourself! Lately, after conversing with friends and spending positive me time with my self, I’ve concluded that I am on a mission of mastering myself! Before you can master yourself you have to of course love yourself! But I personally feel that you can love yourself and still truly have no idea who you truly are, or where you want to be, what you want to do, things you enjoy, things that annoy you and you just have no idea why they annoy you -_- (giggles)… I can go on forever explaining how there is just something unique and different when a women decides to master herself.
Don’t allow your decisions to be based on your insecurities. Leave those insecurities, whatever they may be, big or small at the place you began to feel them. God loves you as you are. Clean up and start over. So many opportunities and peace awaits. Love this picture explanation. Shared this short post because there is a need in our society to diminish insecurities. They … Continue reading Goodbye Insecurities
This post was inspired through personal moments I have encountered within a months’ time! I have discussed with others on how great it is to simply allow God to direct your path while you move accordingly.

Me directing my life
Psalm32:8 says “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” (KJV)
I never doubted my capabilities to succeed. But I never realized the power of believing. Believing in myself, and constantly visioning my dream. Believing that where I am now can only encourage and never discourage my future. And most importantly praying specifically for that vision. Prayer is key but it’s nothing without confidence in yourself and having that faith to see it through regardless of … Continue reading I Believe in Me
Unknowingly so many of us live each day as if tomorrow and the rest of the days are promised. We have came to mentally think we deserve tomorrow and base or decisons, intentions, love and motives on something that’s non existent and not promised. This mentality reduces the beauty of life. And as a society this sucks for us. We continue to live life in … Continue reading Unknowingly Our Mentality Stinks
